Who wants a Robotalk Schematic?

I am strongly considering making a schematic of the Robotalk, but its going to be a bit of work and take alot of time so I am nervous about doing it.  Does anyone want it?  Is there any way I can make money from it without having to build and sell clones illegally?

Glue it to a telephone and exhibit it at the Tate Modern - they'll love it!

PS  Excuse my ignorance, but what does this effect do?

These are sensitive questions, and quite frankly, we don't need THAT thread again.

Obviously, you are throughly entitled to whip up a schem for your own use and reference, and I suppose if you had something you wanted to modify to suit your needs, e-mailing it to someone for an intelligent consult is probably reasonable (although the consult ought to be with the designers, truthfully speaking), but wide distribution of this via posting or a shout-out for e-mail requests is a little unfair to Xotic Effects.

I'll save you some work.  No one has made a sample & hold based filter pedal since, oh I dunno, Maestro. That pedal was made over 20 years ago.  From reviews, my guess is the Robotalk is essentially the Oberheim/Maestro circuit with maybe a few changes and refinements.  That particular pedal is outlined in great detail over at General Guitar Gadgets, among other places.  You may want to compare what you have to that schematic, and simply confirm this.  That's pretty much all anyone needs to know, and the mods detailed there are probably more than what is included in the Robotalk.

Pretty cool pedal, though, huh?

Am I wrong? Isn't the Robotalk basically a Maestro sample and hold filter?

That's what it seemed like to me when I tried it.

I just got that. That's really funny.

Ok, I'll just make a copy of the schematic for myself and check ggg.com to see how accurate my schematic is to their Maestro.

Not completely true, but yes yes, the Robotalk is a Maestro clone.... well, a modified Maestro clone.  So just use that schem.
