My MKII is droning pretty bad when I turn the fuzz up past 4:00. Can this be stopped? Trannies are from SB and my voltages are pretty close. It sounds pretty good until it gets to 4:00. Do most TB's get funny when the fuzz is up all the way?

What do you mean by "droning"?  Is it just mains hum amplified by the gain of the pedal?  Do you have the same noise when the pedal is powered by a battery?

There will always be some noise associated with the Ge transistors.  Even the trannies that Steve sends out are pretty noisy.  You can reduce hum from the power source, but it's difficult to get rid of transistor noise without losing some of the character of the sound.

Did you build a neg ground PNP circuit?  A lot of people have trouble with this combination.  If that is the case, you may want to try to switch it to pos ground for a trial run/tweaking.

By droning I mean that when I turn the fuzz up all the way (at 10) it gets this low frequency noise (drone) that doesn't go away until I start to roll off the fuzz. As I roll off the fuzz the frequency of the noise goes up until it disappears at about 8. All beit there is not that much difference between 8 and 10 but it still bothers me. I'll try to get audio clip of it tonight and then try the + ground version to see what happens.

Here is a short clip of the noise. The first couple seconds is how it sounds with the fuzz almost all the way up to 8 to8.5. The next few seconds is the noise it makes when the fuzz is completely up to 10. Then I rolled off the fuzz back down to about 8. Anybody eles get this same thing?

It sounds like your pedal could use some bean-o. :)

Sorry.... no answer on the oscillation though.

Good luck,
