What are some Voltage Controlled Effects?

What are some Voltage Controlled Effects?  I know I can just replace a pot with a LED/LDR but any recomendations or sound clips? [Excluding normal wahs]

And if anyone knows of a schematic for a decent Envelope follower with minimum parts I would really appreciate it :wink: >
