i breadborded the purple peaker today, but its not doing what it should, i have to crank my amp just to get an audible signal.
the switches dont make much difference.
im really sure ive laid it out right, and  the only difference between minr and the schematic is i used 2n3904s instead of 2n5088s. i dont think that matters too much tho.
anyone else built this?

heres the schematic

Have you triple-checked the transistor pinouts and board wiring?  Sometimes a mis-connected lead can repeatedly elude the eye.

Are you using a fresh battery?  Check that all the grounds are connected.

Have you used an audio probe to determine where the signal is dying?

For reference, the output level of mine seems to be just a bit above unity with both switches off.

Excellent!  How do you like the peaks?  The circuit can really change the character of other effects when placed before or after.  It's a poor-man's EQ, but I like mine very much.

its a great eq, i like it better than my store bought one,
just one thing tho, it could do with a "mid" switch as well as lo and hi
but other than that its great!!
i put it before my distortion rack and it really emphasizes the highs
and in a clean setting it has a warm chorus-ish feel.
to anyone who hasnt built it yet i strongly recommend it
