Hello all,
I have some pots I took out of a old DOD flanger and I don't know what they are. They don't have a A,B,or C on them, but have a W before the ohm value.Does anyone know what this means? Thanks.

Take a meter, set it to ohms and then turn the knob on the pot all the way one way and put the black probe on the outer lug and red probe on the middle. You either get zero ohms or a number. If you get zero, then turn the pot all the way the other side. The largest (nonzero) number is the value of the pot.

If you want to find out if its linear/log/anti-log, take your meter, turn the the pot one way, measure the resistance between the middle leg and one of the outer legs (it'll either be the value of the pot or 0). Now turn it completely the other way, and you'll get the other value (0 if before you got the value of the pot and visa versa.) Now measure with the pot turned half way. If it is half the value of the pot, its linear. If not, its log. For more on this, read the secret life of pots at geo.
