Noob alert.

My amplifier is solid state (yeah... shoot me).  It states that the "Maximum accepted input voltage" is 7V P-P.  Here is the question... why would an amp only ever expect to see 7V at the input?  Aren't effects are capable of close to 9V P-P?  Im sure (or I hope) that this has something to do with RMS measurement or something...  Do I need to be careful about what I send into the amp?  Will this only be an issue with a booster (which I really don't need)?

Thanks,

mjarus.

What they are trying to tell you is that the input signal will clip after 7v, so it must be kept in that range to be amplified cleanly. It might distort, but that's about it.
