quite possibly... just the idea to rig the reverb channel for distortion is kindof neat...

This is the idea that fender used for the "pull boost" circuit.
JHD made several models including the Super Cube that allowed you to blend the reverb and boost functions.
The circuit is two resistors one 10 ohm across the driver output and a 270k in series from send to return. The Ice cube II may use different values to accomodate the changes in the reverb circuit design.  Neither the Ice Cube or  pull boost sound very good.

The Fender reverb signal path passes through a 500pF cap.... not exactly what like. I can't imagine that sounding any good at all.
