Is it possible to mod an Orange Sqeezer to get sustain?

Do you mean *extra* sustain?
For long sustain compared to the OS, the Dyna compressor is useful, as is a good guitar and technique.

Go to generalguitargadgets and scroll down a bit when you get to the OS page.  You'll see some suggested mods that JD kindly posted for me which will help to produce different amounts of compression.  If you wish to lengthen the sustain a bit, I would suggest increasing the 4.7uf cap to ground to maybe 10uf or even 22uf.  The 100k resistor in parallel should be replaced with a 500k pot/variable-resistor (use two lugs) and 22k fixed resistor in series.  This will permit a very slow decay with the pot resistance maxed, and a quicker decay with the pot resistance minimized.

Thanks Mark, I just finished up doing those mods and it does make quite a difference.  I just tested it out through my soundcard though.  I'm gonna give it a go through the old Bassman later this evening.

I just like the tone of the pedal. Kinda like a Booster with a teeny hint of TS in it.
Full bar chords...transparent and warm and slightly thick at the same time, all notes ring, with a very small amount of smooth distortion.
The attack is very pleasant to my ears.
If I hit it hard with the guitar volume up, a get a little scrikki sound...[anyone?] So I'm rolling the vol backa touch. I suppose a limitig resistor at the beginning...raise the 82k or something, put a pot there.

I've been trying to find a way to get a little more distortion out of my Bluesbreaker clone, the OS will definatly do that.

One thing I've been wondering about is setting the 10k trimpot, does having it set right affect how much compression it will get?

I thought I heard somthing with that 'other' pot.
I think it maybe should be replaced with a fixed value.
Neither of the OS's I built make any difference.
When I reported a difference, there was a miswire, BTW good thing I decided to check voltages, the thing made tha battery hot !!!
With the confusion around the Fet's, I was having a 9V connection to the 10k dohh...all better with good lookin' PinV's !!!
I think it's a superb character booster, a little Orange with whatever else your having seems to go quite well, slight hiss with heavy gain monster like Blackfire [BTW what a combo, 847Wah> OS> BF> Amp [little reverb]...I was really feeling "The Faith Healer" !!! [Alex Harvey Band]. Just plain Beautesque.
Bright, Bouncy, Beautiful, the clean side of this thing balances out string attacks making strumming on the MkII amp a newfound pleasure.
I've had/have 'squashy' compressors, they got limited use.
The Ross does sound good, tends to be alot less transparent, being it's liek more sensative/powerful compression, I like the OS having just one knob, setup for sweet sound...by no means the 'do all' compressor, but otherwise does three tricks I like very much: Comp, Boost,  and enhance other pedals remarkably well.
