6w soldering iron ?

i saw one today, pencil size, using 12 dv, just wonder 6w enough to melt the regular solder ? is that good for pedal modding,i think my 25w is too hot for them , any comments ?

i had a 15w and sometimes it couldnt get hot enough to melt larger solderjoints like on the 1/4" jacks... i think maybe a 6W would give you a lot of trouble unless you are doing really small joints... i dont think a 25W iron is too hot for pedal modding just dont let it sit on components for more than a couple seconds.
