Aron, did you ever find the schematic to the tube-o-vibe ?
Thanks,
JD

Scott Swartz

JD,

Please PM me about this.

Aron/Peter

If the above refers to the design that was published in Vacuum Tube Valley and was authored by me, I would respectfully request this not be posted.

I was paid for article, VTV needs to sell magazines to pay authors, etc.

  welcome to the club...

(absolutely no pun intended)

Peter Snowberg

Scott,

You've got it.  :D

VTV should be supported. I fully agree.

Ditto,

Puretube,

Its a fairly small club, I think.

My unit was completed in March 1999, and a couple of months later RG posted a picture of his version that had been built several years prior to that IIRC.

I posted auxiliary info on the Tube-O-Vibe after the article came out, its still there at

http://msswartz.tripod.com/project1.htm

scoll down the page to see it

Hi Scott: maybe we`re referring to 2 different clubs;
you probably mean the "Valve-Vibe" club (small),
while I meant the "respect not to be posted" club (small, too).

WANT the actual article???

Vacuum Tube Valley Issue #17---

or a real Uni-Vibe???

see my ad in the 4 sale/trade area.

it should be noted, that the solidstate vibes had been tailored after tubed organ-circuits from the 50`s / 60`s...

Quoteit should be noted, that the solidstate vibes had been tailored after tubed organ-circuits from the 50`s / 60`s...
... and the Magnatone guitar amplifiers of the 50's, which were themselves knock-offs of the early organ circuits.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

yes, the Magnatone guitar-amps derived from organ-amps,
but IIRC, the Magnatones didn`t have more than 2 stages of serial phase-shifting, and since they used equal caps in both stages,
which gave the phaseshift the character of shifting all frequencies by different amounts,
whereas the staggered cap-values over 4 stages give the "vibes"
the character of shifting all frequencies by the same amount,
excludes the Magnatones from being a role-model for "vibes".

The big achievement of inventor Don Bonham was the voltage-controlability of the shifting by use of VDRs.

(Whereas I assume, that Scott uses another kind of (indirect) voltage-
controlability, like I do too).
