I spent a couple of hours of this weekend playing around with a multi-face on breadboard, after i _finally_ got to the Rat Shack for a trimpot....

and i fell in love with this circuit with double 2n7000's.  And with gain maxed, of course :-D.  It is total shread-fest.  amazing :-D...It gives the exact sound that i find myself playing aroudnd with the settings on my Metal Zone for way too long...

some problems faced included an inability to find a perfect valued input cap...i like a .01 on the output, but i need something between .002 and .01 on the in, which is the only thing i have.  Gotta play around more...

Another problem is German radio, but that should go away with a box :-D

The last is what i have most concern about...i get a kinda buzzing sound when i play low notes.  I think its speaker distortion, but im not sure.  in running now with fixed gain - 10 - and a linear taper volume pot set to the lowest that i'll get any noise....which is still _much_ louder than with the effect bypassed.  Do you think its just driving my amp, or is it something worse ?

EDIT: O-yea, and what is that LED supposed to do ?

I loved the multiface in that configuration too :D

The only problem was that it oscillated like a maniac due to my awful point to point wiring (no breadboard/perf/strip). I'll build it in a neat pcb for the final adjustments.

The led is there to protect the mosfet.
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.
