I attempted to search this board for DI Box schems/PCB, but no luck. Maybe I didnt search for the right term, or maybe I didnt sift through the 14 pages of results well enough...
Anyway... has anyone got any DI Box plans laying about? I would like to put something together that would rival a Countryman but obviously without the price tag.

Thanks!

check out this DI at rod elliot's site. i haven't built it, so i can't vouch for the quality, but it looks like it'd do the trick:

you could easily add an active 3-band EQ to the front and have a pretty snazzy DI.
that site is a great resource for all things audio, by the way.

Check out this link. Click on Music Circuits and scroll down to the DI section - there's a ton of info here. When you're done looking through the entire sight - in about 20 years - let me know how the build went.  :D

Hi.  I built an excellent DI box for a friend from a kit.  Couldn't believe how cheap and good it was (about US$30).

I got it here: http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront

The kit was described in Silicon Chip magazine about 2 years ago. A big library might have it.

there's this one too

I can vouch for this one, it comes with instructions as well as everything you need to build it and they ship OS via airmail.

I was totally amazed when I ran this through to audio analyser, it's virtually flat from 20 - 20k, I think about 0.5dB band pass ripple!!!

For something rivaling a Countryman DI Box, I think you might have to use a decent transformer (~$70 USD). The Jensen web site has lots of good schemes...

Here's another design that I'm about to try...

I'll be using the Lundhall transformer. Note... no power supply needed, it runs on 24V phantom power.

Humm, I would be curious to try it with a 42TM019 (10K-to-600) from Mouser
