Hi Everyone,

I am trying to build a nurse quacky effect but so far i have been unsuccessful. I dont know what the problem is but here is a general description of the sound it creates:

The sound comes out of the pedal ok. it sounds just liek the input. The attack knob donst seem to change the sound and neither does the range knob. when the sensitivity knob is adjsuted teh sound becomes sort of muddier. but not liek a wah. it jsut sounds like a muddy tone is being mixed with the sound.

if you look at the led that goes to the attack knob from the ouput of the first op amp it lights up when you play. the sensitivity knob controls the overall brightness and the attack knob also has an effect on it.

I have looked at it until i go cross eyed and i cant see any errors/wrong parts etc.

I have swapped out the op amp. i have tried using a tl072, tl062 and rc4558 and they all have the same result. I have tried changing the leds from red to green and i have tried replacing the 3904. altough i tested the one that was originally in there and it was fine.

so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Hmm if it doesn't wah, but the LED coming out the opamp follows the signal, I'd guess there could be a problem with the transistor as it is used as the variable resistance element that makes it wah. Search (link's up there) the forum for nurse, quacky, quack, dr and all variations, there's alot of info around about the Dr.Q/Quack/Nurse Quacky. That should help you out.

Ciao.

I built this a month ago and had all diff problems including this one. You might recheck all values, bad caps-electro's. After that it started working--awsome little build!

have you tested pinout voltages?

did you do it on perf or on pcb?

did you have to sub any parts?

all points to ground are grounded, and all not to ground is not to ground?

i had some problems with it at first... and i just scrapped it and remade it... worked beatifully!!!

post some more info and i will think about the probs i was having with mine... im sure we can get this figured out!!

god luck

ok sounds like a rebuild might be good idea. ill try and do it today and post my results.

i double checked al lthe values again and everything is ok. im using the schematic from home wrecker. it says version 1.2. is this the correct schematic?
