Hi guys!. I've got a ts808 with barber's stacking, which i found to be great, but it's got some hiss/hum that i just can't stand for gigging. I've got a 100uf at the input of ps, plus always use regulated and filtered ps. Any ideas how to solve this?. I've used tonepad layout, but put the res/cap to V.R. instead of ground, as suggested byt R.G. . Is it essential to use shielded on input and output in distortion pedals?.
Thanks a lot for any replies!!

Try using shielded cables for i/o it usually helps with hiss/hum and wont hurt, or even every off board connection, grounding one end only.
I presume its boxed  and not just breadboarded ?.
Cheers,
Marty.

Is it noisier than normal, or just noisy?  I have 4 different commercial TS variants (and one original TS9) and they're all noisy, especially with the Drive cranked anywhere past 1/2.

I agree totaly !
All TS "type" circuits are a bit "hissy" at very least !

Try a battery for power
You soldered two OA's together? if you socketed try a different OA, 5532 is low noise.
Try adjusting the value of the feedback loop cap that connects across the diode, adjust other high end filtering to taste.

i checked my original ts9 (reissue), and it's noisier that my clone :o . The fact is that i found it to be too noisy sometimes, and my hwy 89 is so much gainier, but so quiet without signal..... I'll try batteries/ps next to see if there's an improve in noise. Thanks a lot for your replies!!
