Is the master volume needed for this? If not, how would i by pass it? Would I just take the out to the switch or is there more to it than that? I just want a good distortion sound maxed out all the way.

this is it =

Just take out the pot and run the output from the second 2n2/15k junction.

two 47k resistors as a fixed voltage divider instead of the pot [a variable voltage divider] ?
You could adjust to taste, and add a switch later to parallel a  22k?] 'boost resistor' to one of the divider sides.
I don't know how hot the output is on the 18 but you might want to tame it down.
You can use a different value pot [probably 50k - 500k] and get away with that or until a 100k comes around.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Are you looking for high output to slam into your amp or just the maximum distortion possible from the pedal itself?

I'd recommend the master volume on any simulator pedal.  Later you may want to run it into a power amp and will need the volume control on the pedal.   It's easy to do and costs hardly anything.

Then you should leave the Master Volume in place and just run the pedal at Volume (gain) turned up all the way.  You could substitute a 1M pot for the Volume control, as noted in the mods, for more gain.
