...new project is posted at my website.
It's the Tubedriver and I followed the schematic once drawn by John Greene.

Thanks for this one, Tom.

Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Have you actually built it? I remember that the TD layout at GGG had some noise problems...

I haven't but I will! I'm a bit busy these day! Actually I'm supposed to have holidays but I have two examinations. One was in experimental physics (which I did very well :D ) and the other is in material science (zzzz) which is a real pain in the ass. Did I mention I study physics - anyway - after this I will take concerns about my projects.

I have (the stock one from GGG). Kinda noisy, probably no good for recording. One day i'm gonna dig it out, give it a proper grounded shield for the tube and rectify the filament voltage, and see if that makes it quieter.

tomboy-

Yeah, material science isn't the most exciting thing is it? If you ever do build your Tube Driver, let us know how it turns out.

lightningfingers-

So, this noise, would you say that it from the filaments? Is it a hum, buzz or hissing? I recently re-built the Shaka Tube, and it's very quiet - no tube shield and 12.6VAC for the filaments. I'm curious as to why the GGG Tube Driver layout is noisy...
