Morley Power Wah Boost at +9v??

I'm getting ready to build a PWB clone for my brother's birthday.  I have a Dunlop wah shell I will use but have two problems with the schematic as I see it now.  

It takes 55VDC and 25VDC.  I don't wish to work with a transformer due to voltage concerns.  Using replacement jfets would it be possible to run it off a single 9v?  I could to two 9v's but prefer not to.  

The second problem and more important, is it's a LDR based wah.  Looking at the schematic I believe it works by filtering the negative feedback much like on amplifiers.  The problem I'm having is I don't know where the ldr's led is comming from.  Thank's for your time.
