How is everyone getting logos, lettering, etc. on their boxes? Inkjet/laser decals? Clear coat over that?

Thanks!

CD, what's you're prefered brand of clear labels and graphics program? I'm always on the look out for other labeling methods.

Mark, if you're interested in the complete top label, do a search under username Bucksears, he got good success with his method.

I don't remember if I've mentioned it before, but there's a type of polyester laser label specifically designed for heavy duty applications which I LOVE to use.  I have a small stash from when I used to work at a place that used them for outdoor signs - they stick like crazy and don't rub off easily, since they're designed to be left outdoors.  I'm pretty sure they come in clear, since I remember seeing clear signs stuck all over the place :)  I'm at a loss for a source, but if you google around for "heavy duty polyester laser labels" it should bring up some info.

The downside is IIRC they're a bit pricy - something like $2-3 each.  But if you print a whole page, you can fit 4-10 FX worth depending on size.  As for programs for printing, I use Photoshop, or for really simple stuff, a word processor.  Naturally if you don't have access to those high end programs (though anyone with broadband should :) ) there's always GIMP (www.gimp.org).  I've run it under MacOSX with good results, there's a Windows version as well.

If you don't have a laser printer... quite honestly, I wouldn't bother with this method then.  Or print PDFs and bring them down to your local copy place.  Honestly, I couldn't give a flying F how my pedals look (as long as they sound good), so hand painting is out for me :)

Thank you both so much for your help! I'm about to look into the bucksears and the labels CD mentioned.

Sounds interesting, CD. I have an injet, so I'm SOL with your method. I've been using both the Avery full page clear sheets that Bucksears uses, and Avery's filing labels, which are individual versions of the full page stuff. I also have some International Paper removeable clear labels that I'm experimenting with.

Mark, if the Bucksears pics aren't up anymore, let me know, I hosted them for a while. Stunning work.

Funny, I found great primer/basecoat/clearcoat combo's the first try. Labeling, however, is a never ending quest for good transparency.

Hi Wizard. :)  Anymore new pics to show us? I always admire your graphics. Your builds have a very professional, yet artistic quality to the graphics layouts.

Mark, here's another user name you want to search.

Yes, please do send them or post post some here! Unfortunately, 90% of the pics I came across in my search were dead links. :(

Thanks a lot for all of your help. This is such a wonderful forum full of friendly, helpful people. I'm humbled...
