has anyone built the super tubescreamer

Im building the supertube screamer drawn by keith gwin. The only problem im having is my brightness pot isnt modifying the tone at all. The schematic doesnt give a value for the pot so I used a 10k linear. Has anyone got any info on what it should be?Or on what the problem could be if its not that?
