hey guys, i was looking at MORLEY's website and i wanted to get the owner manual for a wah i owned, but by looking at the documents page i found that the have schematics too and one of this is the tripler or tripet, its design to send the signal to 3 amps and to give u a 20dB boost!, i got the schematics and now im going to build it to see how it works, it uses a TL071 wich leads me to a question...... can i use a TL072 instead of a TL701?? i chack the data sheets and the only differences is that the TL071 has one input and the TL702 has 2, what u guys think would it make any difference... even the pins are pretty much the same!

from what i know the tl071 is pretty much the same as a tl072...
the difference is:
tl071: single op-amp
tl072: dual op-amp
tl074: quadruple op-amp

yeah that kinda what i read but it would still work even tho i only use one of the inputs or the TL072 right? or do i have to use both in order to make it work?

I'm pretty sure you can only use half of a tl072.

TL072 is two independant op-amps in the same package. Just tie the other opamp in/out to ground.

Isn't it more like positive input to ground and output to negative input for the unused opamp.

Same thing really ... I just ground 'em out.

I would go with Elektrojänis' solution. You never want to give an output stage the opportunity to sink current directly to a power rail.

I just tie 5&6 right across the way to pin 4 [ground]. ..the output follow suit quite well...that half of the opamp stays at 0v.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
