Is there a PCB layout for the millennium bypass? I'm going to make one if no one else has one to share.

There is this one for Version 2.  http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/pcb/MIL2.jpg

I remember seeing one for the new version C somewhere, too.

Thanks!!

From the little reading in the .pdf on the Geofex site, it looks like the 'C' version is only 'better' for people who can't find mosfets easily. If that's the case, and since the mosfets are $.10 at the shop near me, the Millennium 2 would be just fine. Am I understanding that correctly?

what number of low leakage diode? :D

I my opinion, The millenium bypass is made easier on perfboard.
About the diodes, Mr Keen posted a quick trick a while ago. I've always had trouble making mine work using a 1n914 for the high leakage diode and the base-collector junction of a bipolar transistor. I have instant success when I place two 1n914 for the high leakage and one 1n914 for the low leakage one. This WORKS instantly.

Hi Martin. Thanks for your reply. I'm curious... are the two 1N914 for high leakage run in series?

2x 1n914 in parallel for the high leakage.

Use a BS170 (ST70A mine are marked) .... voila, no need for low leakage diode. Made a bunch so far and none worked with the extra diode, all worked great without it.

The low leakage diode has never been necessary for operation. It's there for protecting the MOSFET from static-ey electric fingers.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
