hey guys, this is the first time i have a boss pedal on my hands wich pretty much means "OPENED", a friend gave it to me cuz the LED is broken and the switch isnt working eighter, it looks good inside theres nothing burned or broken, but i dont understand how this things work, its a HEAVY METAL HM-2,,,  and i checked the schematics and they r far from what i see here, he schematics have only 2 transistors and this thing has 9,,,,, i suposse it is for the bypass system  cuz i heard this things have a weird bypass mode and the switch only has 2 poles, so my problem here is that i dont know where the input or output is, i was following the path and on the schematics the volume control is right in the end of the circuit but as i started following the wiper it goes to a electrolityc cap and lots of components more, i was wondering if anybody knows where i can find schematics for the whole circuit cuz i cant even test the pedal since i dont know where the input or output is.... id love some help,,,, see ya

"LED is broken"  is very general.
if the LED does not work, check battery.
The LED is *actually* a battery tester.
the HM-2 should work even if the LED is burned out.
unless the switching circuitry(FET sw) is malfunctioning.
an HM-2 has more than *just* transistors in it.
look at the battery connections when U replace the batt.

heheheh, the LED is really broken someone kinda "chopped it" in half, all u can see from the outside is the plastic red stuff and the anothe and cathode, it looks funny  but its like if u get an LED and u step on it really hard, thats what it looks like, the problem here besides that is the switch, i heard its a momentary switch but i need to know what goes plugged there, whoever owned it beforebut on one pole a cable to the output and then on the the other pole a purple cable from the circuit

Here is the simplified schematic:

I have an HM-2 board sitting here so I'm sure I can help you to find the right connections. :D

The input is the hole labeled "1" in the upper right corner of the board.

The output is the hole labeled "6".

I think the purple cable is just a switched connection to ground, but I don't remember. It has been many years since this thing was in a box. :D The effect in/out switch is a momentary N.O. switch. I do remember that at least.
