IF one doesn't have an extra D or 3PDT switch lying around , how do you wire it into a normal effect configuration. Which connection(of the 4 on a DPDT) gets left off and rerouted to where?  EVERY single layout for Switch wiring I see on the DIY sites just assume that one wants to or has a DPDT to stick in to their effect project. and true bypass just isn't that important when your just trying out new effects and troubleshooting.
thanks anyone

Output jack to the centre terminal, output of effect to one outside terminal, input jack and input of effect to the other outside terminal.

those are the signals I am trying to get to the switch and if I think I know what you're reffering to as CENTER lug then its the way I thought it went BUT just to be sure ,.... on a Carling style (wah pedal) SPDT switch (And OH I'm sorry I think I accidentally said 'SThrow on the post, don't think that would work huh?)  There are TWO lugs on one side, the right side looking from the bottom of the switch... and ONE lug , top opposite side of the switch by itself.   Is this what you're calling center and the two on the side together are outer lugs?? or what is the arrangement here??

I don't know how that particular switch is configured. What I meant by 'centre terminal' is the common terminal. Use your multimeter to determine which lug is the 'centre' or 'common'.

thanks I think that will get it done.  For reference , the right side of the switch w/ two lugs on it has the Common as the lower lug. The lug that takes the "blue" wire from 3rd lug of wah pot>
