need crash sync help

first thanks to all who helped me in my first simple project...
well i'm trying to build the crash sync by Hollis at the moment but iìve got some PROBLEMS!!!
could someone out there help me with the right wiring using a DPDT switch?
what kind of 555 is it i've got a NE555 is it suitable for that project???
