Eliminating clock bleed in the FSH-1A, can it be done?

I recently built a FSH using the layout at usstomp and the schematic from GGG.
Sounds crazy and is a lot of fun, except I get loud clock ticking even when switched to the filter only section.
I made very few substitutions, a 20K trim instead of a 10K, TL072 instead of the duals that usstomp called for, 100uf caps in place of the 220uF, I used 1n4004 instaed of 1n4001. The rest is as the schematic calls for.
I do not think any of these are causing trouble, from what I gather it may be a layout issue but I don't know.

Is there a way to correct the ticking or should I look to re-build with the GGG layout?

PS I'd like to extend a hearty thank to Paul Perry Frostwave who has answered many of my questions. Thank you sir.
Also, I'd like to also extnend another thank you to R.G Keen and also to Mark Hammer for the very very informative articles about envelope filters.
In that vein I'd like to extend my thank yous to JC Maillet for his documentation of mods for the mutron. I know the folks whom I am thanking may never see this but I didn't want to start a new thread.

I should enlighten this a bit.
Here is the layout http://ustomp.com/index.html?menu=2§ion=6
Here is the schematic http://generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/fsh1asc.gif

My build is not boxed yet, it has all the wires coming from it to my breadboard and from there to jacks and trim pots.
I did not use sheilded wire.
If I rewire it with sheilded wire, and house it, could that possibly cure the ticking?
Thanks, Jas

The bleedthrough could be due to the long wire runs from the pcb to the breadboard and jacks.
Hopefully it will be cured when you box it up.

I built one from the layout at GGG and it DOES tick when I'm not playing and it is in the sample/hold mode, but NOT when in the filter mode.

You may want to increase the caps in the power supply from 100uF to the stock 220uF or higher for more filtering.

I wouldn't worry about using shielded wire, unless you still have the problem after it is boxed up.
If it still ticks, you could try shielding the input/output wires.

Good luck.
