I am looking at the schematic for the Rebote2 delay and notice that pin 4 of PT2399 is linked to a symbol that I thought indicated "ground" but it is different to the other "ground" symbols used. The 50k pot also has this symbol. Also looking at the circuit board layout the track between 50k pot and pin 4 is a different colour to the rest of the ground track. This is confusing for me cos I'm trying to build it on stripboard and think I might make an error. Any help greatly appreciated. :?

Hi!
Ricardo

I built the rebote delay 2 too.
the pin 4 of pt2399 is the ground of the IC, so the wire is indicated in grey color but It's not important!! It's just a notation code from the layout border.
You don't care of this.
But You circuit don't work????

Ps: Do you use a millenium bypass for the rebote delay???

Thanks, mathflan. I built this effect once and it was working fine for a while then suddenly it went wrong. It will only give one" repeat".  I've checked and replaced all of the components and checked all solder joints but still it refuses to work properly. "Delay" and "wet" work ok. I might build a new one. I don't use a bypass.  :)

Hi Ricardo,

Having not looked at that particular schematic, but having worked with the PT2399 IC quite a bit, I imagine the symbol that you are seeing indicates a 'digital ground' (the other ground symbol is 'analog ground').  Digital ground and analog ground are basically at the same potential, but they only should join together at one spot.  This helps to keep any digital hash out of the ground plane that the analog portion of the circuit operates on.  So, when you're stripboarding, just make sure the digital ground connects with the rest of the grounds at one point only (it'll help reduce any noise that may occur).

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks my friend, that's helpful.
