I bought this box from a guy at a flea market for about 50$. It didn't work properly - it sounded like it's on and turned to the bass side but rocking it didn't make a differance. do I changed the pot to a new ICAR replacment and boy does it work now... sweet vintage vibe!!!
It need a little more work on the jack - clean up of all the flux.

Now I'm wondering if I should put a true bypass and out a bigger Q resistor (or trim) instead of the 33k one ( plus I want to change the HALO - it's one of the bad HALOs...)

Should I do it - or will it spoil the vibe?

I don't want to mess to much with that old board

if it sound good, leave it alone.
as off now, you have only done a repair and it would probably still be collectible to people with that fetish...  if you want to mod, sell it and buy a few new ones for the monney you get, and play around with those...

Regarding those vintage Vox V846 wah pedals, if it sounds good to you, I would leave it alone. Just because it has the "wrong halo" inductor in it (because of someone else's opinion) doesn't mean anything, if you like the sound. I have a vintage CryBaby with the infamous TDK inductor in it, and I think it sounds fine. Heck, ten years ago, the ones with the TDK inductors were considered to be the ones to have. All I am saying is that musician's tastes are fickle. What is all the rage today will be replaced by something else tomorrow.  I wouldn't mess with an old Vox pedal like that, though, if it were me.

BTW, that was a good score!  8)

EDIT: Of course, as RG has shown us, the ones with the original Fasel inductors have the best tone!
