Boss SD-1 mods

Hey guys, Im new here (as you can tell) but I have been interested in making stop boxes for a while.  I have a boss SD1 that I use most of the time, and while it was so cheap I thought it would be a good platform for experimentation. So Im looking for some suggestions for mods that I could do to this pedal...
Im not new to electronics (currently studying for my A level) but some of the level of knowladge of certain circuits you guys have is way over my head  :wink:
Any links or Ideas anyone could provide would be great.
