What logic chip is RG talking about?

Any CMOS inverter - there are many.

At least the following will work:
CD4049
CD4069
74C04
74C14
which are simple hex (six in the package) inverters.
Any NAND, NOR, XOR, or XNOR gates will work as well, you just have to tie the unused inputs to + or - to make them not prevent the inverting action of the gate.

Use the 4049 or 74C04 if you can, it's simpler to start.
Look up the data sheets for the connection diagrams and pinout.
