Motorola Parts

I've been looking around on the web for Motorola to ECG/NTE cross reference, and haven't had a lot of luck. I end up getting referred to another search engine that tells me there is no site for this information or, to something to do with Microwave towers. I have stripped several tv chassis, and radios with Motorola parts, and have a whole baggie full of transistors that could be useful if I knew a YYHG#*BV^&UKTYRHGF  was actually a 2N3906. I also have access to drawers full of new old stock Motorola chips, transistors, and diodes, that I can have if I can find out what they are.

maybe this place can get you on track?
at least tell you what each component does.and I believe they have a "raplacement" search function also.

first, cross 2n3906 to NTE equiv.
then, cross others to NTE.
lots of times there are many subs for a tranny.
specially the generics.
just remember, that the generic trannys vary widely
in their gain(Hfe) which can affect the circuit.
many times U might have to "dial it in" with a trimpot.

Thanks Tone man, but I haven't had any luck with that. It's like there's every other manufacture in the world that you can cross reference to, and then there's Motorola. I believe it's mostly because Motorola parts are specifically for their product lines, and not made to be used in anybody elses. I am sure that someone out in Web land knows that a particular Motorola part crosses to a Fairchild part for example, if I just can figure out where to look. It's ugly and nasty here too, so I think I'll go ahead and drill some holes in my boxes to mount circuits in. Thanks GHN for the link. I'm not sure I'm going to find a lot of information on there for specific Motorola parts that we would use (found a couple descriptions worth looking into though), but what a site. Man, they have everything there! Someone or group has put a horrible amount of time and effort into doing that site.
