I was wondering how it would be possible to adapt a fuzz pedal for bass guitar?  Any thoughts or ideas?  I assume it would mostly involve changing capacitor values, or maybe aditional filter sections.   Lets take for example the tube screamer or the fuzz face circuit...

Awesome! I was just about to ask about mod-ing other effects for bass. My wife has been wanting some effects for her rig - things like echo, OD and chorus. I see some of these designed specifically for bass.. is there a rule-of-thumb for changing others? Do they all need to be changed?

This info has been posted before.  From what I can tell it mainly consists of changing input and output cap values.

I made an interesting mod by adding a 1n cap parallel with the feedback diodes. It gives a huge bass-boost with higher gain settings, so you'll want to have some kind of bass cut circuit. Making the from-feedback-loop-to-gound cap smaller also helps.
