Hey Folks
I thought I'd build this pedal as my first build because it looked like it was set out pretty easy looking plus all the parts were easily available from the one shop in Australia where there aren't many around. I'm nearly positive that its all wired up correctly but when i switch it on all i get is a humming noise and it's been driving me crazy! If anyone can offer Any suggestions i'd appreciate it VERY much! You guys and gals seem to know what your talking about.
Thank ya
Nigel

It's possible that your problem is with the input and output jacks and/or switch wiring. Triple check these.

Hey Nigel, I'm glad to see that the Easy Builds are getting used. I've even used a couple myself lately. This one I drew up, but never built. Hopefully it's good. I made this schematic off of Gusses original hand drawn schematic. There should also be one one GGG that shows a standard schematic of this circuit that I also drew from the original hand drawn schematic. If I have a problem after the build, I always take a clean schematic, and retrace the wiring. I also assign the components a number, and label them, along with pin #1 of the chip. That way, when you go from bottom to top of the perf board, you won't get confused as to which resistor or capacitor you're looking at, especially if they have the same value. It is very easy to transpose when you're flipping the board over. Check your input stereo jack for proper wiring. The sleeve lug should go right into the inside of the jack. The tip is the prong that sticks out the furthest, and the ring is the one that set's nearest the jack body. Stick a plug in the jack, and you'll see the prong go in the tip notch, and the ring prong rides along the shaft behing the insulator band behind the tip. Follow the lug around in the insulator wafers of the jack, to be sure you have the right lug associated with the proper prong. Right now, it sounds like you have your tip and ring reversed on the input jack. Let me know how you make out, because I'd like to know that the schematic is not flawed.

Hi

Is it already in a metal case?

If it is ,does it work if you remove sick switch and connect

tone3 to diodes permantly ,respectivly interrupted
(testing 2pos of switch without it)

I didn t build it yet ,that s all I have to offer at a first look

Keep on soldering!
And don t burn fingers!

Hey guys, and do i feel stupid, turns out my battery was dead!    The pedal works a treat. :D
Thanks all the same

I'm glad the schematic worked, however this dead battery thing is going to cost you. We will be expecting your sound sample within a week!

Congrats. Please record a soundclip of it.

Off topic but Jeff the first build I did, 2 or 3 years ago was Smokin Pot's LM386 head phone amp. Got your easy schem for it somewhere maybe from GGG can't remember, but at that time my skills were very limited and it helped me out alot. Funny thought, now that I read schem's like a second language the EZ schem is almost confusing!

Any way I guess your the guy I have to blame for my addiction   :D

Hey, my first working unit was the Smokin Pot little amp. It wa the first thing that worked to me, and I still have the board here. I tried a Bazz Fuss before it, and it didn't worked!!!
