Universal Expression pedal?

I was wondering how hard this would be to do. I have a wah shell I bought to put the Gargletron circuit in, but I have the wah working now (an Original Crybabay I got for less than $10.00 thankyou), and kind of don't want to gut it. What I'd like to be able to do, is to be able to switch the wah in and out, and why it's out, be able to plug my Gargletron or Crash Sync into it, and use it's pot to work the normally stationary pots in those two circuits. Then, I would like to have both of the stationary pots on the effects to work as normal, when they are unplugged from the expression pedal. As you can see, I don't want much. Ha! I figure it's doable, but I can't get it in my head on how to switch things, and if I'd have to have another set of jacks in the wah shell. I know I can figure it out, but if someone has already done this before, why reinvent the wheel. That's why I pose most questions. It's not because I can't ultimately figure it out, but why go through the process, if it's already been done.

Thanks for the info. As far as I can tell, I ought to be able to just tap the 3 wires onto the exhisting wah pot wiring on the lugs, and keep the original guts as is. This jack, would be a third jack coming from the effect, and the rest of the pedal would be dead anyway, since nothing is plugged into the instrument and amp jacks. Is that correct? From what I was fiddling with drawing last night, I would have to have a DPDT switch on my Crash Sync, that moves the timer pot wiring to a third jack that is headed towards the expression pedal (modified wah). That way, it could be used with or without the expression pedal. I can get by with a DPDT, because two legs of the pot are tied together. Then, I have to tie two poles of the 3PDT together to make the wah pot work the same way. I hope I have this figured out right, because if I do, then anyone ought to be able to use their existing wah as an expression pedal. I will just have to see if the Gargletron will work correctly with a 100K pot. The design calls for a 10K, so I may have to put a couple resistors on my output wiring to the expression pedal to compensate.

Just in case Torchy comes back with a reply... I was looking at the Original Crybaby schematic, and it shows #1 leg grounded on the hot potz. I'm trying to figure out if the ground circuit would have to be cut with another switch before I could tap onto it with my expression wiring. If the ground in the wah isn't hooked up to any part of the effect that I'm using the pot for, could the ground stay?

Thanks Torchy. If I can't find one of those fancy jacks, then I may have to do some extra switching, but in the end, I believe it'll be worth my while to fully isolate the wah pot. I think this has been good information for a lot of people, who want an expression pedal for something. If they already own a wah, then with a little tinkering, they have one.
