wiring 2 color LED

I have a schem with a 2 color LED called for and 2 leads from the board for it. I have the LED in question - and it has 3 leads. Makes sense.... but should there be a 3rd pad on the board for it?

3rd one is grounded...

Some leds work where, one way is forward, one way is reverse. These ones work when one leg has + and the common is grounded.

Im assuming the common is the center post. Indeed it is indicating a switch position with red/green.
