Here's a tip for any other newbies out there besides myself.  When it came to schematics, drawing, laying out the parts, using the correct symbols, etc., we can all read and study what is out there but what really helps is "hands-on" experience.

What I did to help myself get a crasp on them is taking some of the simple EZ build schematics from GGG and draw them in schematic form.  Since then, I've found I can follow schematics a lot easier.  I've used both MS Paint and ExpressSCH.  Things are making more and more sense now.

I'm glad the EZ builds are working for you. That what I put them there for, just for that purpose. That way you could relate an actual part to a symbol on a traditional schematic. This is Cool!

I found them to be very usefull too and they also helped me to learn how to read schematics.

I've found them very useful.  Just to show you what I've done, here is a schematic of the LM386 Headphone Amp from GGG.  I just looked at the EZ build and went from there.  I've started to do the same with a few others but haven't finished yet.
