Hello everybody, I´ve been thinking build the effect SuperOverdrive Boss and searching on the net I found two versions of the schematic available: one is that Fuzz Central has (http://fuzzcentral.tripod.com) and the other one I can´t remeber exactly where I found it (I send together with the message a copy of this schematic).

Comparing both one can see a big difference (the part below transistors Q1 and Q2) and someone in this forum told me that this part makes the bypass also turn on/off the led (I asked what was that part some times ago here in the forum). I decided to take the "small" schematic and use a 3PDT switch to make use of bypass and a led, also I drewa new schematic (together with the message there is a copy of this schematic).

So ... opinions, suggestion, criticism are very welcome. This effect sounds (at least the original one) really good and I´d like to have one. The next step should be draw the PCB and indeed buildit.

Thank you all,

Miguel D.

The second schem shown has the voltage divider [the string of two 33k's] and the LED indicator shown.
The top One I've built a couple of, the voltage divider needs to be added/included, it is not shown.
I use LM386's for voltage dividers. Battery + to pin 6 batter minus to pin 4...pin 5 is 1/2 supply [pin 5 is connected to everywhere the schematic indicates 4.5v...that's it!
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I have a layout for the SD-1 at
http://www.ustomp.com
I made it using the schematic from the Boss Datasheet. A scanned image of the two pages of the datasheet is floating around the net somewhere. Unfortunately I don't have it with me at the moment or I would post it for you.
You could look at my layout and compare it with the schematics to see which one matches. The only difference between my layout and the Boss schematic is that I ditched the switching part of the circuit and added a resistor to stop the switch pop.

I HAVE PCB OF BOSS DS-1 AND THE WIRE SCHEMATICS, BUT NO THE SHEMATICS , IF YOU LIKE TO GET JUST SEND ME A EMAIL ......

what bout this schematic?

http://www.freeinfosociety.com/electronics/schematics/pictures/bosssd1.gif

it looks more complicated.... so which is the original one?

SnooP_Wiggles

the complicated one is the original, the difference being the electronic FET switching is included. In the others this is omited in favour of true bypass switching.

Joep

this schem includes the switching part (flip-flop and switching fets)

The schem's on top include only the "real" circuit, the part of the circuit that makes the sound. It you make it true bypass, you can use the first schems.

BTW The SD-1 is a real good pedal! Well worth the $$ if you buy one, because it's really cheap.

Bye,

Joep
