Another newb question with this damn Electra!!! (Help!!)

Well I finished the soldering and decided to test my creation. When I plugged it in it was in the bypass mode and it worked. But when I switched on to the effect I could barely hear anything. Only when I pluck the bass I could hear something. No distortion what so ever!  

Do you know what could be the problem? I'm pretty depressed about the whole thing.


PS: What are the effect's in and out?

What are the effect's in and out?

'in' is the left side from the .1uF cap

'out' is the center tap from the volume pot

Things to test:

1) make sure all grounds are connected
2) is it getting +9V
3) orientation of the transistor
4) resistor values

How did you make your board -- did you etch it, or did you perfboard it? If you etched, how did you transfer the layout onto the copper board?

Wheee!!! I got it to work. Thanks ethrbunny!!! I checked my transistor and it soldered the wrong way (collector and emitter at wrong places)

Now for some Distortion action!! :twisted:
