Building lpb-2 into a expression pedal?

Hey guys, i've just bought a faulty proel wah pedal, decided to strip away the proel board and build a lpb-2 into it , so i can control the gain with the pedal, and while off, i can have it as a volume control. Wondering if this is the gd idea, suggestions on what u guys will do if u have one of this chassis too?
