I have been drawing out my parts I use in the contruction of pedals with Illustrator and I mentioned it in a thread and got a request by another user if they could get the file.  I gave it to him, but I think a lot of other people might like to have it too.

There are two files (one .ai [CS] and one .eps [ver8 and above]) compressed here.

I figure they are very useful for laying out a box and making sure all the parts will fit.

I have it on my server so I can continually update it as I create more items that get used, but if you want to post a link to it for people either on the forum and/or the somewhere else on the website, you are more than welcome to.

I don't current have Corel Draw, but i am going to try and make sure this is (if not already) compatable with that along with a few other vector based programs.

I've been doing kinda the same thing in Corel.  (.ai) is compatible.  I work in Corel everyday at work and have become fairly proficient.  Maybe we could build a library everyone could use.

Can you e-mail the file to me?

Thanks

Yes, but I do have to point out the obvious in this case...

You can right-click and save the link.  ;)  Though I am sure you know that.

bryantbr

Thanks.  First few times I tried the link it didn't work but it worked this time.  I'll get back to you shortly.

Ah yes, I forgot to take into account propagation.  :)

What version of Corel do you have?

bryantbr

version 10.  I have illustrator also but never installed it.  I usually draw things in Cad then import them to Corel as a WMF.  I was thinking about export these part icons out of Corel as WMF's or EMF's and people could make their own layouts in Word or Excel.

Are there any free tools out there I can work with these in?

bryantbr

these files can be exported to a format compatible with Word, Excel, PP, etc.

javacody

Yeah, if you have the $800 software they were created in. I don't.  :)

I will look into porting them to Word sometime and see if they will even be useable in such a (God awful) format.  ;)

You could try this:

http://www.gimp.org/

It's an open-source Photoshop replacement so it's not really Illustrator-like, but you can do a lot with it, it's multi-platform and it's FREE!!!   :D

Wow.  I thoguht that was only on Linux.

Nice.

That is a VERY powerful program for those that don't know.

I used the free Irfanview, and it worked right away...

And when I used another program I paid, it gave an illegal line message for one of the objects...

Good idea. I don't have Illustrator but the EPS opened in Preview.

Thanks,
