Weird issue with my Odie

Evening-
Just finished up putting together the Odie from ROG. After testing, retesting, and some more soldering and testing, I've found the root of my problem but have no solution. All pin voltages are okay and correctly biased, needed to put a 3k3 for the 3k, as it was all I had. The main issue I have is where there is a connection to lug 3. If I put my thumb up against that joint, in connection with the cap that is adjacent to it, the circuit works fine. If not, the sound is very low, in the background, and covered by RF (no box for this yet). I'm trying to nail down the problem BEFORE putting it in the box. Any ideas? I thried resoldering the joint numerous times with no luck. lugs 1 and 2 are jumpered with one wire leading to perf. 3 is by itself - seems the perfboard joint has issue. Maybe it's the resistor? I don't know: it's late and I'm going to bed. Thanks for the help.

lug3, lug3....
which lug3 would this be? Gain? Tone? Volume?
instead of using your thumb, try using both non-conductive (plastic) sticks to poke the joint with, and either pieces of wire, screwdrivers, or alligator clips if you wnat to short something. Thumbs are somewhat unreliable.
If you poke the joint with a non-conductive stick and get sound, it's a bad joint.
Is that cap supposed to be in connection with that infamous "lug3?"
From what youre stating, I gather it's the tone pot? This has no caps in direct contact to "lug3" Which cap??
Notice ROG layouts tend to have a grid layout -  how about some more specifics, preferably with coordinates? (such as J16 for the output cap)

I built the ROG Odie. This is probably an ignorant question but have you biased the transistors while listening to the output? Just setting them to the suggested voltages doesn't really cut it. You have to listen, twiddle and repeat.

When I used my thumb I got sound, and it sounded great! I like it a lot. Seems like something is wrong. I'll go back and look at it when I get time (student teaching is non-conducive to building effects). Lug three runs to the tone (sorry, I posted waaaay too late last night). There is a 3k3 resistor connected to two different caps - 3n3 and 0.001uf (see attached). I'm thinking bad solder joint. Thanks for the suggestions: I hope it'll work.
