For a long time have I forseen the need for this.

Since there is more circuit inside the LM13600 than needed, what would be the best to do with it.

We need just one OTA, but I've heard that paralleling them can be a good idea. Then there are the two buffers, what to do with those? And the diode bias?...

What I'm thinking is mainly to make an adapter to replace the CA3080 with an LM13600 in the ross compressor.

Any ideas?

I was thinking more along the lines of making a daughterboard with the required jumpering...

Just dead-bug the chip with a spot of glue.

See my comment on the ca3080 in another thread.

On the other hand, a PCB to do this would take about the time to type one of these notes.

If you do this, use the SMT version of the dual OTAs.

By the way, I was recently issued a registered trademark for "RTS (tm)" as it applies to musical effects printed circuits boards.

... not really... it's funny to see it pass into the vernacular, though. 8-)

Cool.

And what to do with the unused pins?

The funnier thing is that it's not really ready to solder

I think Puretube may have a point here. A redesign may be a better bet - until the 13600 is withdrawn

What about your precious 1590 box??? Surely it may need a bigger one!

how about a dual compressor, with a cross-over up front, and a mixer on the outputs...

...or an Anderton VPR for stereo/pan pedals?
