I recently received a broken SWR workingman's twelve to fix from a friend.  He had taken it in to a service guy for repair, but it would have cost him 200 bucks, practically another amp.  He diagnosed the problem however.  One of the main transistors was broken.  I have it here in my room, and have used my dmm on the first power transistor I saw, and it conducts across the collector and emitter.  I used the diode-test function on it.  I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't be doing this, unless there's some kind of protection diode I don't know about built into it.  The part is a SC8182  which no longer ships at mouser, but nte36 is a suitable replacement.  I'm pretty sure that this part needs to be replaced.  If there's something else in there that I should test because the part I diagnosed is not broken, then please help me out here.  If anyone has any schematics for this thing, it would be appreciated.

I suspect the internals of the tranny are fused from overheating, or misuse... etc

Thanks a lot guys,
Ken
