about the muffer

so im trying to build the muffer.  Going good so far.  But the output i dont get.  The tip goes to the dpdt switch.  Where does the casing go? nothing? that doesnt make sense.

Tip of what? The output jack?  On that, the "casing", "shield" or "sleeve" is connected to ground.  You might want to do some reading in the Beginner Project area.
