If you don't have to, don't. I was sent one that needed a new footswitch - from the looks of it first generation and very abused.  In the course of trying to correct a severely cross-threaded pot shaft nut ?!? I broke a pot loose from the pcb.

The jacks are board mounted, and their cases extend through the enclosure and are flush with the outside surface. In other words, the only way to pull the board is de-solder 12 lugs simultaneously.

Dang.

If you're careful, the DC jack will gently pry back from it's opening enough to  clear it and the board will pivot on the jacks a skosh. Kinda like popping the hood. Here's a shot of the hood up and a test pot clipped in to make sure the patient was still alive.

Now to keep from cooking anything when I solder in the new pot, it's all SMT land in there...

Just like Tech21.  I hate that.

you'll be glad to know that the far more popular and much improved black label series is (almost) a delight to work on in comparison.

I recently bought a Bass IQ (Cheers Mikeb!) and modified it (threshold) with no problems. The pots are mounted such that they obscure part of the PCB, but in this case it wasn't a problem. Even so, they're pretty easy to desolder.

And EBS are reasonably forth coming when asking for schematics and mods.

Shrimp down the pants!!!

Don't desolder them all at once! Get the "Solder Wick" (It's fine copper braid that takes the solder off a joint).

Cheers,
