It is a passive device that you can plug into a microphone line coming from a kick drum mic, and it supposedly will give you the "perfect" kick drum sound...i doubt it cause everyone's tastes are different...but i was wondering what kind of capacitor/resistor network would this be?

According to Earthworks, it's a a pad and a low mid scoop.  This means you can use it on any mic which can handle the SPL, anthough I suspect it was engineered to their own mics (which I use and recommend, btw).

I haven't personally handled one or opened it up.
