How does this switch go? On the layout there is a thick small line in one end. Does this indicate the round plastic tab on one end? The nubers on my switch do not coincide with the ones on the switch. The switch I got from small bear and was not a PCB mount switch so I had to cut off the Circular ends to fit in the PCB. Not soldered yet. I wanted to make sure it was oriented correctly. Thanks Guys

Regardless of what the numberiing is, the general arrangement (though there will ALWAYS be exceptions) is that when there is an outside circle of contacts and an inside circle, consider that the common lug is on the inside circle, and is positioned so that all of its contacts are distributed equidistantly around it.  That is, the "first" contact is as far to the right as the "last" contact is.

Does that make sense?

Well here is the confusing part. There are 4 inside lugs in a perfect square so no mater which way I turn it it will fit perfectly. There are effectively 4 different ways I can install it but only one way will work, right??

A quick stop at http://www.mouser.com and a look for the lorlin switch shows a button for the data sheet for that part. The only top surface key to orientation is the round plastic anti-spin nub for the panel, and that occurs between pins 1 and 12. This does indeed correspond to the short fattened line on the parts layout between 2A and 3C.

However, the part is rotationally symmetric. Any of the four possible rotations works, I believe.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks RG thats what I was thinking. I will solder away now. Thanks for your help.
