Anyone build this critter?  I just finished one, and it seems ok, but the output seems low -- could be the byproduct of what's being done to the tone, but I wanted to compare notes with someone.  Once it's boxed up I'll post more comments and sound clips.  It's pretty wacky!!

(note -- I can't seem to get to the Tonefrenzy site which is supposed to have sound clips already...)

I get to Tonefrenzy no problem, they just don't have a sound sample for the Jen, just a pic.

Cool -- must be my firewall...well, I'll get sound clips up soonishly...hopefully...  :?

can you pm the schematic to me ?  might be a way to "up" the output level...

there are 2 schems circulating - the old one got errors, the newer one is said to work OK...
can`t remember, where, though.

hmmm...hopefully I got the right one (ggg).  I searched all over for more info on it, and didn't find anything...we shall see...

I wonder if anyone who built this would mind trying something. I have just been looking at the board from Mongo's unit, and I have a feeling that Q2 (on  the GGG layout) may have the emitter and collector switched.

If you have one with sockets, try reversing the transistor and see if it makes any difference in the sound.

Thanks,
Dan

I will give that a try tonight -- thanks for the suggestion!

I built mine off the new schem and it works perfectly...though I feel like the tone control is skewed kind of low.  Jen's fault, methinks, not JD's!  Anyway, gain is pretty close to unity for me.  Oddly I don't like it as much as the HF modulator on my Alesis Bitrman & so it may not get a lot of use.

So here it is, at the german forum http://forum.musikding.de

'Tis true! Last night I changed R3, C4, oriented Q3  properly, and  rewired the intensity pot to the new schematic. I like it much better than before.

With depth all the way up the speed goes fron tremelo to motor, then evens out to match the freq of the note, then goes past back into motor/robot stuff. Pretty cool!

Thanks analogguru!
