Guitar Tuner Schematic

Hi,

Can somebody point to guitar tuner schematic/s? I found only this PIC based one below but is seems like the program  /.asm file/ is messed up and it doesn't work :

I found this one at elecdesign.com via discovercircuits.com (quite the archive) - but after looking around Electronic Design's site, the software is nowhere to be found...

I couldn't find it either. Maybe somebody can fix the .asm file for the PIC based one? I know we all like the analog but maybe some of you guys know digital as well?

I've got a schematic at home from ETI, don't remember the exact issue number. It's based on a TOS (octave generator) chip which are nearly impossible to find today. I think a place called Keyboard Systems offers replacement plug-in's , but they are pricey $30-50 range per. Uses LED's in a circular pattern to give you a flat or sharp indication. I can try and scan the magazine article and schem. if interested.

I've been working on CMOS logic replacement for the TOS chip, which seems to be working. I'm still tweaking it (design isn't my strong suit). I thought it died on me (no output tone), ended up being a problem with mixer.

i can't find ETI article in my archives.
i think i decided not to download cause of the TopOct chip.
I **think** it was at SchematicsForFree, under audio/music..
just looked 4 S4F, and get a "not found error"  (?)

The device from EPFM is called Tuning Standard and generates signals coresponding to the strings notes.

The EPFM 'tuning standard' is also based on a TOS (Top Octave Synth.) chip ... Look here for TOS chip replacements ...

The magazine article is from Electronics Today, (a Canadian magazine, now out of business) August 1987.
