Flipster...?

I'm looking for a gritty, slightly overdriven tone for my bass...and I'm thinkin' the Flipster might be it.  The soundclips on Runoffgroove are recorded direct, so it's a bit hard to tell how the pedal might sound through an amp.  Any testimonials?  Just how much gain is available with the first Volume knob all the way up?

ALSO: I wanna to go all-out on this build and make it a real keeper...so if anyone would be willing to etch and drill Pablo De Luca's layout for me, I'd be more than happy to pay you for your efforts!  PM me if you can help!

Theres a million bazillion posts on etching and drilling.

I go to office max, buy their HP photo paper for inkjets and print it using their laser printers then iron it. THen with my Dremel and my 1/32 bit I drill holes. Its easy and fun and good times. Tonepad.com has a photoessay on etching and toner transfer.

I've etched plenty boards before (and hand drilled the holes   ) but no longer have the ferric chloride.  At the rate I need etched boards, it makes more sense to get them made rather than have a bottle of corrosive liquid sitting in the cupboard!

A guy named autopilot makes 'em, but seems to make 'em in pairs.  Not that I mind...but I don't think I'd actually use another etched board for ages!  If anyone needs a board etched, perhaps we could go halves

I could do it for you. Just might take me a week to get around to it. I could do it no charge. I like doing PCBs its fun! Or maybe I just like playing with my new Dremel.

Thanks for the offer...but I insist on paying you at least something for your troubles!  Brett helped me out with a PCB once and wouldn't accept anything for it either.  I'd ask him again if he weren't in China!  (although I'd insist on paying him too).

PM me, so we can talk. But I'm not charging you.

I've recently "improved" the flipster layout (wider traces/pads, better layout). If anyone's interested, i'll send it to Brian for update.

I'd go with a Blue Magic, It's much simpler, and has a sweet throaty OD tone to it. The input stage is a MOSFET, so you can use a pretty big input impadence with it, to suit your bass
