This weekend I finished the BSIAB II. I didn't apply any mods to it, except that I used only 2n5457's.

Thanks to Ed Guidry for the design and to Torchy for the Vero layout!

The layout is a tribute to my van halen country mates  :D

Funny ;) had the same idea for an Eddie tribute

The five knob version has and active tonecontrol. The second image shows the rather crowded inside of that box.

Have not long completed the same pedal (http://www.diystompboxes.com/sboxforum/viewtopic.php?t=31785) and am very impressed with it. J201's and 2N5457's in mine as per design. Incredible sound!

Nice graphics and for fear of asking the obvious, what technique was used here?

Thanks, same technique as you are using.

All of these look great.... Mine only sounds great, but some day I'll get it painted....

Do you have  a schematic or detailed desription of the 5 knob changes?

JerryP

Of course it's nice to have them looking good and I put a lot of effort into it, but... SOUND! That's the important part.

Nice job! I like the look of it. Very reminiscent of the ol' Eddie Van Halen-ized Kramer electrics.  8)

Nice lookin' build there Nikolay. I like the graphics - a lot of times those flame graphics look cheesy, but not this one.  8)

But the sound is great :)

Hi

The 5 knob mod is the following:
1) Leave the tone section out
2) Insert the modded hi/mid/low lection of a Sans Amp GT2. See
http://www.diystompboxes.com/sboxforum/viewtopic.php?t=24359&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=eq&start=15
3) Add a tubescreamer output buffer and volume control (can be found on tomepad amongst others)

This mod gives the possibillity to exactly simulate the normal version of BSIAB and add a number of other options. Especially running another stompbox in the BSIAB (DS1 or TS9) gives wild options. Loads of gain and distortion that way.

Anyway the BSIAB sounds absolutly fab!

Outstanding application of this, I will definately look into doing this... I'm wandering if I might also add a "Q" control for the mids to make this more like a parametric EQ... Hmmmmmmm... I'll have to do that...

Thanks!!
